A movie’s success is often determined by how well it was received by the audience. Dil Dhadakne Do has been getting rave reviews from critics all over the globe. If you enjoyed last year's Bollywood release - Chennai Express, you will enjoy Dil Dhadakne Do too. The family drama-comedy film is set in India and it centers on a dysfunctional Punjabi joint family that travels to Mumbai for a wedding, which is eagerly awaited by all except for Tanya - an outspoken woman who hates "the rigid rules of Punjabi society". But her opinion changes when she finds love during the trip. The movie is a story of three Punjabi siblings - Samir, Anu and Tanya. Their dad is no more, mom is an alcoholic who can't find a job and they own a dilapidated hotel in Manali. They do not know what to do because no one wants to marry their two sisters. The three best friends - Samir, Anu and Tanya decide to take drastic steps in order to break the monotony in their lives and to send Anu off the troubled marriage market. The trio do not know that they will soon be seeing a profession. They also go to Mumbai for a wedding of a grand-aunt, who is the only link to a family secret. Because their grandfather, a "Punjabi Robin Hood" committed suicide after being falsely accused of committing crimes. Family drama and comedy is the main topic in the film. The film also has one important message that is that everyone can change and it is better to be with someone whom you love as opposed to being alone as it gives you more happiness as opposed to being alone which does not give you any happiness at all. The film was well received in India and many movie-goers praised it. But there were also some negative reviews. The film received mostly positive reviews from the critics and was one of the most successful movies of 2014 in India! The story revolves around a Punjabi family who decide to go on a trip to Mumbai in order to cheer up their sister who is awaiting her Indian wedding. On arrival in Mumbai, they find that their hotel is "dilapidated", and they decide that the best thing to do would be for them to stay in your house until they can find another place (that has an actual bathroom!). The first time we meet Samir (Ranbir Kapoor), Anu (Anushka Sharma) and Tanya (Farhan Akhtar) they are doing "the rounds". They've been to every restaurant, hotel and everything else in the area. It's clear that their last name is Luthra and that they're Punjabi.
